My chicken Rendang
1 whole chicken-cut into small pieces
3 tbsp kerisik(coconut gravy)
1/2 cup water
1 cup coconut cream
lime n turmeric leaves -thinly sliced
tamarind peels
brown sugar n salt to taste
1/2 chicken cube
enough oil
*15-20 dried chillies-boil til soft
*1 big red onion
*5 cloves garlic
*1 tbsp coriander seeds-heated til brown
*3 lemongrass-slices
*2 inch ginger
*1 inch galangal
*2 inch fresh turmeric
*1/2 cup water
puree all * ingredients in a blender.
-Heat the oil.add in paste n 1/2 cup water.fry a bit
-Add in chicken.stir.Add other ingredient except kerisik.stir and let it cook on medium heat for 15-20mins.Add more water if too dry.
-Simmer until chicken is tender and the gravy begin to dry n look creamy.Add in kerisik and stir well
-ready to eat :)

Translation in Malay :
1 ekor ayam - potong kecil - potong 8 or 12
3 sdb kerisik
1/2 cawan air
1 cawan santan
daun limau & daun kunyit
asam keping
gula perang dan garam untuk perasa
1/2 cube ayam
minyak
Bahan kisar
15-20 lada kering
1 biji bawang besar
5 ulas bawang kechil
1 sdb ketumbar - disanggar
3 batang serai - potong
2 inci halia
2 inci lengkuas
2 inci kunyit hidup
1/2 cawan air
tumis bahan kisar hingga wangi dan masukkan sedikit air. kemudian masukkan ayam dan gaul rata. masukkan bahan2 yang lain kecuali kerisik dan biarkan ia masak lebih kurang 15-20 minit. tambah air jika ia terlalu kering. bila ia sudah kelihatan ayam sudah empuk masukkan kerisik. dan gaul rata.
